Edward E. Burr

Ed Burr is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GreenPointe Holdings, LLC, a diversified holding company that brings together the necessary disciplines to create sustainable, high-value communities throughout the state of Florida. Burr is widely considered a leader in the real estate industry for his ability to analyze real estate potential and to lead companies that create unparalleled communities known for their recreational, residential, and commercial value.

Prior to leading GreenPointe Holdings, Burr founded the LandMar Group LLC in 1987 and led the company’s creation of master-planned, award-winning communities in Florida and coastal Georgia. Burr’s career started as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand working in Miami and New York City. Burr also founded Hampton Golf & Lifestyles Management with former PGA of America President M.G. Orender in 1998 to develop and manage golf courses and community recreational facilities across the country.

Throughout his career, Burr has been actively engaged in many business, civic, community and charitable organizations. Currently serving on the Board of the Florida Council of 100, Burr served on the Florida State University Board of Trustees for more than 10 years including as Chairman of the Board from 2015 to 2021. He also served on the FSU Foundation Board of Trustees, Seminole Boosters Board of Directors and College of Business Real Estate Executive Board. Burr previously served as Chairman of the Board for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, JAX Chamber, Jacksonville Civic Council, and Jacksonville Country Day School. He is actively involved in several national and regional development organizations, including a past board member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a founding member of the ULI Center for Leadership.

Burr founded The Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. (MBF) in 1997 to continue the work of his late wife, Monique Burr, a devoted child advocate. MBF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the best prevention education programs to protect children and teens from victimization. MBF Prevention Education Programs are evidence-based/evidence-informed prevention programs that educate and empower children (and adults) with information and strategies to prevent, recognize and respond appropriately to abuse, bullying, cyberbullying, digital dangers, exploitation, and human trafficking. A leader in prevention education, MBF programs have reached over 11 million children throughout the United States and internationally.

Throughout his career, Burr has received numerous accolades for his dedicated service to the community and real estate development industry. His recent honors include the 2022 Ultimate CEO Award, the 2021 Hearthstone Humanitarian Award, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to public service, the 2021 Bernard F. Sliger Award, the highest honor given by the FSU Alumni Association, the 2021 George Langford Award, presented by the Seminole Boosters in recognition of serving FSU’s best interests, and the ULI North Florida 2021 Visionary Leader award, the most respected award in the land use planning and development community.
